New Student Orientation takes place in the two weeks before the start of classes of the Winter Semester. Orientation provides students with a foundation for their musical, academic and personal lives at the Akademie, and attendance for new students is mandatory.
Orientation weeks at the Akademie are a busy and exciting time. Activities include essential sessions on regulations, curriculum, enrollment and student life matters, as well as receiving administrative support in registering with the city of Berlin, setting up German bank accounts, and more. In addition, Orientation is the time for new students to settle into student housing, look for accommodation, prepare for the start of classes, meet new classmates and discover Berlin. Additionally, Bachelor of Music students will also participate in a week-long writing workshop. All incoming students will receive their itinerary two weeks prior to orientation.
