Sold-out concerts wrap up the semester Students presented a chamber music program in two academy concerts on July 10th

The 2020–21 academic year, a time shaped by numerous challenges for students and faculty of the Barenboim-Said Akademie, is coming to a close. In wrapping up the semester, the young musicians had the opportunity to participate in a week-long chamber music workshop under the guidance of faculty members Michael Barenboim, Yulia Deyneka, Emmanuel Pahud and Giuseppe Mentuccia. They worked intensively on chamber music programs for two academy concerts that closed the semester on July 10. The recitals allowed the students to perform as part of various ensembles, which had been very limited over the course of the past months.

The two sold-out concerts met with an enthusiastic audience response. The programs included, among many other works, excerpts and individual movements from Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du soldat, Schubert’s String Quintet and an early trio by Beethoven for piano, flute and bassoon. We wish everyone a great summer and look forward to seeing you all again next semester!
